Did you know that head lice are parasites?

Did you know that head lice are an a-sexual parasite? which means that they don’t need a partner to reproduce so if you have a female bug it just starts laying 4-5 eggs a day and about 150 eggs in it’s life time.

Hair Fairies San Francisco is THANKFUL!

Here at Hair Fairies-San Francisco, we are thankful for the many blessings that come with treating head lice.  We know head lice- NO ONE WANTS IT and that it’s a NUISANCE.  It can be a challenge without the right education and tool.  This is the reason why we are here to educate and help out with the nurturing of the minds that head lice can be managed and treated within days and not weeks.  We are also thankful to hear and see that the families who we help REALLY REALLY love their children!!!  Ask us why and how this happens when we love our children so much that we as parents and as a family dynamic can get head lice.  The saying “being close-nit” in a family is what we seldom say to help explain and make it less challenging.

Hair Fairies removes lice by day and gives Turkeys by night:

Is each nit a bug?

I had a 6 year child come in for her 2nd appointment, as we where going thru her treatment she expressed how much cleaner here towel was this time around, she then said “wow I guess all the poop from all the bugs is gone!” Haha so I kindly had to give her the news that each little egg was in fact a bug wanting to develop she was sooo amazed!!

Hair Fairies Grateful Clients

It never fails to amaze me how much our clients are truly grateful for the services Hair Fairies provides. Today we had a courier deliver 2 signed DVD's to a HUGE production that has not yet been released (on DVD).... needless to say our lucky Hair Fairies technicians are ECSTATIC!

Uku from Hawaii is the thing to say!

Move over “Mele Kalikimaka” because “Ukus” is the new black!  If you haven’t realized, the term Mele Kalikimaka is a Hawaiian-themed song that means Merry Christmas.  Christmas is wonderful and all, but there’s a new word in town, and its Head lice! or “Uku” (ooooh-koos) We had a family from hawaii who taught us the term.  We even have gotten families who have called us directly from the state, asking about our services, products, and how they found us on Dirty jobs!

Ask Me?

There has been tons of feedback surrounding our ASK ME buttons..... Some clients LOVE them some clients HATE them, but at the end of the day, they are an extension of our great customer service. The buzz is out... now "ASK ME".... you have a question, we have an answer!!

Hair Fairies Scarecrow in Chicago

It was great working with my Technician, Joe on the Scarecrow we built for Clark street's Scarecrow contest. After 2 weeks of Joe working on it...it looks FAB!! Joe did such a great job! Check out our pictures!!! It is so exciting to see what other business in Lincoln Park did for the contest! And it give us more idea's for next year!! The contest is called "scarecrows on Parade." Our Scarecrow is called "The Scarecrow meets the Tin man!" Our clients are loving it, especially the kids!! It brings, comfort,, ease and humor to having Lice. I hope you like it. Tell us what you think!!! I hope we win!!!!!

Stylists need our help too!!

There was a client having her hair colored at a very high end salon. While she was in the chair she received a phone call from her kid's school notifying her that her children had head lice. She was terrified that the colorist was going to see the lice in her hair. When the colorist was done she figured she was cleared. Surprise, surprise....when she came to our HF Salon in NY, we found that her lice had been colored too!!

Thankful Clients!

One of our clients at Hair Fairies (who had a severe case of head lice) decided rather than tipping their technician they would financially support the techs son's entire baseball team. Now that is gratuity!!

Word of Mouth is Fantastic!

Here in SF, we get a lot of clients who were and are referred through families and friends who have used our service in the past.  I can't imagine the level of return this brings to our salon and our company as a whole.  This is the reason why we are trying to give back as much as we can with promotions like 2 Free HOURS of screenings in SCHOOLS, our current Halloween Iphone 4S raffle give away, and Thank You cards!

Fun in SD!

Yesterday was Linda's first day in the salon running things all by herself! and she did a wonderful job and she said what a great time she had playing boss for 1 day!

Great Job Linda!

Hair Fairies Travels

Experiencing people who have lice in cities across America reminds me that people have one common goal when it comes to this problem:  Get rid of it fast, painlessly and discreetly.  Hair Fairies has mastered all 3 with a twist....our customer centric service and beautiful, clean, comfortable, and tasteful setting  One of our clients came over to me while in New York and said I just have to tell you that your staff are AMAZING.  My kids don't want to leave.  And whilst in Chicago another customer came over to me and said:  Thank you for being alive and in business.  And finally another funny comment from LA was: I know I should want to run out of here when I'm done but I kinda wanna stay.  Is that weird?

New movie in SF!

We have a new movie at Hair Fairies!

My lead Tech purchased one new movie for our salon and it is Mrs. Doubtfire! We opened it and had a child start watching it, and load and behold, it's not actually the movie but Mrs. Doubtfire behind the seams-which is the behind the scene edition!

We couldn't help but to laugh and we will try to get the movie in.
