On the first head lice treatment, we remove everything that is visible. About 70%-80% is visible in the first visit. It is very difficult to get rid of the head lice infestation in one visit due to lack of visibility. The nits when they are first laid are transluscent and are very hard to see.The nits go from light brown to dark brown. The closer the nits are to hatching, they become darker, and more visible. When the nits hatch, the louse is very small, and they are flat on the surface, therefore the lice comb won't grab on to it. The remaining 20%-30% is removed in the second treatment. The second treatment is shorter than the first, since you will have less nits and/or head lice left.
