Our Colleague Josephine has a new puppy and his name
is Snuffles! Kids loved him when he was around for just a half day at
our Head Lice Salon. Pets give us so much joy and relief sometimes when
we are dealing with stressful (lice) situations where we have no
control. Snuffles is an example where he had put our younger clients at
ease. We wonder how exciting it would be if all our Hair Fairies lice
salons in Los Angeles, San Diego, New York, Chicago, and Connecticut
could have a pet like Snuffles around. Life would be more less
stressful! Our little friend would ward off the stress of dealing with
lice.
Pets and animals in general cannot get the human form

“Gifts from Hawaii for our Hair Fairies Team in San Francisco!”
Lena, our colleague at our Hair Fairies San Francisco lice treatment salon,
went to Hawaii and had presented us with these when she came back! We
are happy for the kisses, utterly excited for the macadamia madness, and
super stoked to hear she had lots fun with her partner. Lena came back
just this week and we missed her absence! We are a real team here at
Hair Fairies. So when one of us leaves we feel their absence...in a
good way. The lice probably do too! Heehee
We are fortunate to receive gifts from our fellow Hair Fairies lice technicians whenever
one of us goes on a far away trip. We have had shot glasses and bottle
openers from Diana on her trip to Mexico and Kyle from his
cruise. Wonder what future gifts we would be receiving on our next
adventure!

"Can we go back to Hair Fairies, Mom?," a kid asked his mother upon finishing treatment for Head
Lice. It's quite humbling and endearing to have our clients come out
of this whole head lice removal experience: better educated, equipped
with the true facts about head lice AND cured of their seemingly
insurmountable problem. The child's mother also told us that her son
didn't want to leave Hair Fairies. Apparently our toys, movies, snacks
and service kept him more than content even though he was there to have lice removed. The kid also enjoyed the different interactions with our Hair Fairies lice technicians. His mom actually told us that they usually pass by Hair Fairies San Francisco lice treatment salon on
their way to school in the morning and her son felt sad they weren't

At Hair Fairies Chicago we did 3 free Head Lice checks this week! The schools were all in different areas of Chicago. This is proof that it does not matter where you live or if your school is public or private. Anyone can get Head Lice. Head Lice does not gravitate to a certain socio economic group or status. Head Lice don’t know whether you are purple, yellow, green, or blue. They are a parasite. A Pesky parasite!! And they like everybody. Many of the students that ended up having Head Lice have been treated prior to Hair Fairies screening them and finding nits. They still have it probably because unfortunately killing the Louse without removing the eggs is counterproductive and families fall victim to it time and time again. This is a poem that was submitted randomly to Hair Fairies the Head Lice Helpers Los Angels
Sugar and spice
and everything lice.
A bug did crawl
up on the wall.
Jumping from my head
the louse had said
“I make you itch,
And shake and twitch”
But hair fairies I did call
and they killed my lice after all
The salon was neat,

How Head Lice got to a Firehouse
A third grade class had to a field trip to a Firehouse to learn all about fire safety and what firefighters do. The kids were able to get on the firetruck, see all the ladders, wear the fire suit and the fire fighter helmet. Yikes!! All the kids tried on the fire helmet and unfortunately head lice had been going around in the class. When the kids left, they gave the firefighters a hug, and were very pleased with such an exciting field trip. The firefighters were very happy that the kids had a good time, that was all until a week later when one of the firefighters thought that he had gotten a rash on his neck. He went to the dermatologist and was given a cream to put on the rash to help it go away. The itching did not go away but got worse! and was feeling itchy all over his head, but nowhere else on the body. Hmmmm... Then finally one day when he looked into his helmet after a long day, he sees an insect moving. He grabs it and puts it in a little jar and starts researching online for pictures of different insects. And there it was: head lice. He then researches ways of getting rid of head lice. He was relieved to see there was a head lice removal salon in New York City, which that brought him to Hair Fairies the head lice helpers. He puts out fires and we put out head lice.

As I walked into my home on a rainy winter day, I was greeted by my roommates sitting in the living room waiting for me. One proceeded to say "just the girl of the conversation!" I asked, why? The girls had just been talking about my work, Hair Fairies the Head Lice Helpers. They began to ask common questions and proceeded with mentioning myths. I stopped them to let them know the FACTS:
- Head lice shampoos can be highly toxic for your child, and many strains of head lice are immune to the chemicals in over the counter shampoos
- Head lice cannot jump or fly
- Head lice cannot live on your pets
- Head lice cannot live and breed in your environment i.e. couches, carpets, cars, movie theaters, airplanes
- Head lice are not signs of unwashed hair-they thrive in clean hair rather than dirty hair
My roommates then stopped and were not sure if they believed me or not. I told them of the extensive training I went through from being a Hair Fairy Technician at our San Diego Head Lice Treatment salon. I also told them that if they were correct then at some point in my three years, or even repeatedly, I would have caught head lice. Kit toy set for kids to play doctor! There’s also another stuffed Buzz
Light year doll!
